Truck Stop Party

One of our loyal readers (okay, someone who helped me think this thing up) commented that we should do something at the Pilot Travel Center in Barstow. Regardless of the actual location, I think Greg may be on to something here. This really is your one stop shop for the traveler on the go. Yes, I am aware that Anderson's Split Pea claims to have everything for the traveler, but we have to ignore that for now.

Let's focus on the benefits of a truck stop party or wedding.
  • Pilot alone has over 300 locations in 40 states. We're bound to find one somewhere we need.
  • Catering is taken care of. They have their own restaurants.
  • Dance too much? They've got showers to cool off those hot heels!
  • Stuff too much money in the money dance? On site ATM replenishes that need.
  • Hate hearing that song? Head over and entertain yourself at the internet cafe.
But a traditional truck stop is just so, cliche. Let's up the stakes and combine some things that the happy couple enjoys shall we? I know of a place in Oregon on the 5 that has everything we need. I'm talking about the Seven Feathers Casino Resort and RV Resort. Easy freeway access? Check! Convention Center? Check! Trolley Tour? You bet! Vicki Lawrence coming in November? Sign me up! And just look at this room:

It seems a shame that we can't just go up right now.

We've gotten off-topic again. Back to the truck stop in Barstow. What can the guests expect when they visit Bartsow? I've found a list of 47 things within 100 miles that can keep us entertained for hours. You could see the Poppy Reserve, or the famous Bagdad Cafe that is no longer there. Do you love laundry? You could visit the Borax Center. I know that is on my bucket list. So I think we have it, Barstow here we come.
